Can I edit a contract after it has been sent for signature?
Neither the landlord nor the tenant has signed yet
If you want to edit a contract that you have sent for signature and neither party has signed it, you can cancel the request. You will then find the contract under the tab "Draft" and from there you can click your contract and edit it before you send it away for signature again.
One of the parties has signed the contract
If you want to edit a contract that has been sent for signature, where one of the parties has signed, you can annul the request. The contract then goes back to the tab "Draft" where you can edit your contract before sending it again.
Both landlord and tenant have signed the contract
When both parties have signed the rental contract it is principally a lawfully valid contract and it can therefore not be edited after the fact.
But you could come to terms with the tenant that a new contract is to be drafted, and the already created contract be ignored.
We would in this case suggest, that you get juridical help to do this so that you are sure it is done correctly. As a minimum, you should make sure that you have the tenant's written signature and a reason for the edit (for example, a fault has snuck into the contract), and why the original contract was annulled/replaced. BostadsPortal can unfortunately not help with legal questions.
